Environmental destruction, coming soon to a river near you

Nobody in New Zealand has to look too far from home to see a wild river under threat.

As demand for so-called renewable energy from hydro grows, power companies are looking hard at virtually EVERY wild river that is left in the country.

Even the rivers on the DoC estate are under threat. See the Mokihinui River for an example.

Each Regional Council in New Zealand has prepared a report detailing the hydro potential of the rivers in their region. Contact your Regional Council and ask for it.
