West Coast Wild Rivers Angling Mecca

A National angler survey conducted jointly by NIWA and Fish & Game NZ shows the popularity of West Coast wild rivers for angling has increased by 10,000 angler days since the previous 2001/2 survey.

It also shows that just under 40% of he anglers were out-of-region visitors with overseas anglers contributing a further 8,250 angler days. Further evidence of the value of West Coast wild rivers to the local economy in their wild state.
